Starline (1:04:57 PM): just anything to make you tired Joshua Woulf (1:05:31 PM): so i should listen to kelly talk about shopping? Starline (1:05:40 PM): lol sure
I am under the impression that Joshua is talking about me, I mean how many “Kellys” could Star and Joshua possibly share in refernce. I am left to the conclusion that Joshua’s goal is to make me cry, first making fun of my face and now my words. Sadface.
This is indeed interesting. Free Green is giving away free designs for green homes with full construction document sets. People across America can get a “custom” house designed for nothing. How do the designers make money, you ask? From ads, basically calling out specific materials produced by specific manufacturers in the drawing sets.
I think it is a very interesting idea. However, designing and drawing custom homes is what I do for a living. It’s how I make money. The article suggests that architects don’t make money doing custom homes. I beg to differ, my bosses seem to be doing very well. It makes me wonder what market they were looking into, where did they get these particular facts? What do they consider a custom home?
This is where the difference comes in I suppose. These plans are for those people who would, to save cost, purchase plans from a book or a manufacturer in the first place. I wouldn’t call these custom homes, nor what this site is offering for free. I don’t think that this will affect the architects who design real custom homes or the clients who desire homes built especially for themselves.
