I’ve seen this cartoon a number of times today, and I have to ask: is it implying that racial equality, women’s rights and disability rights have all been achieved? ‘Cause, no. Also, the words on the stairs don’t really follow a pattern.

I think it’s saying that the legislation of those rights has been achieved…

The Nike Run Club meets every Thursday at 7pm on the corner of Washington and Lincoln Rd in Miami Beach. They have a Facebook Page and a Meetup Page. I went for the first time yesterday with Gissi. They start the run out in waves with the slower people going first (like me) and then the faster people (like Gissi). There are runners and walkers, it’s a really cool group of people and it’s very well organized.

The Marlins stadium parking structure cost was approved earlier this year at 94 million dollars. This week the city commission will be asked for 41 million on top of that. This is just for the parking garage. I really dislike this project; the management of funding, the bullshit they’re feeding the public, the behind closed doors deals for ridiculous amounts of money that is going to be stuffed into peoples pockets, and the design sucks.

The woman, Kimberly Fallon, told a nurse about the previous attack and months later, her doctor’s office sent her a bill for treatment. She said she was informed by a nurse and, later, the hospital’s billing department that her health insurance company, Blue Cross Blue Shield, not only had declined payment for the rape exam, but also would not pay for therapy or medication for trauma because she “had been raped before.””
